The fixed prices launched April 30th (for P&O Loyalty Club members) and May 1st (general sales) but here’s the catch: After 90 minutes, price fluidity kicked in and prices were liable to fluctuate from there based on demand and the demand as expected was high.

Choosing the right cabin is crucial if you want to avoid noise on a cruise. Here are some of the potentially noisiest areas on a ship and why you might want to avoid them:
1. Under or Near the Pool Deck (Lido Deck)
Why?
Early morning deck chairs scraping as crew sets up.
Loud music, movies, and pool parties throughout the day.
Late-night gatherings near bars & hot tubs.
Avoid: Cabins directly below the pool deck or outdoor bars.
2. Near Lifts & Stairwells
Why?
Constant foot traffic with people talking loudly. Late at night people tend to stand around these areas chatting and saying their goodnights after a few drinks.
Possible congestion before/after dinner and during shore excursions.
Avoid: Cabins next to or opposite lifts and stairwells.
3. Below the Buffet or Main Dining Room
Why?
Early morning noise from crew setting up breakfast.
Clanging pots, pans, and chairs scraping.
Heavy foot traffic at peak dining hours.
Avoid: Cabins directly under the buffet or near main dining venues.
4. Near Nightclubs, Theatres & Live Music Venues
Why?
Loud bass and music vibrations until late at night.
Noise from crowds leaving the venue.
Avoid: Cabins above, below, or next to theatres, nightclubs, or piano bars.

For UK passport holders travelling to certain countries (check which ones in good time before you travel, in case you need to renew your passport) your passport must be issued less than 10 years before entry and valid for at least three months after your planned departure. Some countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your return date.
Additionally, certain destinations—like the USA (ESTA) and Canada (eTA) and the new (no launch date set at time of posting) scheme ETIAS (Europe)—require an electronic travel authorisation, even if you DO NOT plan to disembark! Always check visa and entry requirements well in advance. Some cruise lines will refuse boarding even if you’re missing a single document, so double-check everything before you leave home.
3) Failing Security Screening
Every cruise passenger must pass a security screening before boarding. This includes bag checks, metal detectors, and sometimes additional questioning. If you refuse to comply, you will be denied boarding. Be patient, follow instructions, and ensure your luggage adheres to cruise security guidelines. The much publicised European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) has been postponed yet again, this time until late 2026.
What is ETIAS?
ETIAS is an automated online system that will assess the eligibility of non-EU nationals to travel to the EU. It’s not a visa, but rather a scheme to enhance security and improve border control efficiency.
The ETIAS scheme is similar to electronic travel authorization systems used in other countries such as:
👉 The United States’ Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) 👉 Canada’s Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) 👉 Australia’s Electronic Travel Authority (ETA)
Note: If you are on a cruise calling at EU ports, even if you do not plan to leave the ship, you will still need an ETIAS to travel.
Who’s Affected by ETIAS?
The ETIAS Scheme will affect citizens of over 60 countries, including the UK. They will need to apply for ETIAS authorisation before travelling to EU countries for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
What Does ETIAS Mean For You?
Once ETIAS is launched, you’ll need to submit an online application, providing personal and travel details. In most cases, you should receive approval within minutes.
ETIAS Fees
There will be a fee for ETIAS. The application fee is 7 Euros, which is payable by debit or credit card. This fee applies to travellers between the ages of 18 and 70. If you’re under 18 or over 70, you won’t have to pay the fee.
It’s worth noting that the fee is non-refundable, even if your application is denied. The revenue generated from ETIAS fees will be used to cover the costs of running the system, and any excess funds will be added to the EU budget.
